`Rameswaram` focuses a sympathetic camera on the life of Sri Lankan Tamil refugees who have taken shelter in various camps in Rameswaram in Tamil Nadu. Jeeva plays a lead role of a Tamil youth trying to set terms with life in a refugee camp, uprooted from his home turf. Beauteous Bhavana plays the daughter of a rich man (Lal) who develops a soft corner for the Tamil youth.
